LUCA Japan Company Limited (throughout “we”, “our” or “us”) recognizes the importance of personal information, considers the protection of personal information to be a social responsibility, and believes that it is our social responsibility to protect personal information.

Article 1 (Personal Information) 
The term "personal information" shall mean "personal information" as defined in Act on the Protection of Personal Information and shall include information about living individuals that can be used to identify specific individuals by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained in the information, as well as data related to appearance, fingerprints, voice prints, and the insurer's number on health insurance cards, etc..

Article 4 (Personal Information to be Obtained) 
We shall obtain the following information from customers. 
a. Name 
b. Date of birth 
c. Address 
d. Phone number 
e. E-mail address 
f. Information used to determine suitability of the customer for the Services 
g. Bank account information 
h. Information on the personal number or corporate number (Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures (Act No. 27 of 2013, including subsequent amendments)) 
i. Information registered by the customer on our website or applications provided by us 
j. Information regarding various inquiries to us 
k. Any other information provided by the customer to us 
 
Article 5 (Change of Purpose of Use) 
1. We may change the purpose of use of personal information only when it is reasonably recognized that the purpose of use is related to the purpose before the change. 
2. In the event that the purpose of use is changed, we will notify the customer of the changed purpose by the method prescribed by us or announce the change on our website. 
 
Article 6 (Security Control) 
We exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over our officers and employees to ensure the security control of personal information to prevent risks such as loss, destruction, falsification, and leakage of personal information. In the event that we entrust all or part of the handling of personal information to a third party, we will exercise necessary and appropriate supervision to ensure that the personal information is securely managed by the third party. 
 
Article 7 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties) 
1. We will not provide personal information to any third party without the prior consent of the customer, except in the following cases; however, this excludes cases permitted by Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws and regulations.  
a. When it is necessary to protect the life, body, or property of the customer and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the customer. 
b. Cases in which the provision of personal information is particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound growth of children, and in which it is difficult to obtain the consent of the customer. 
c. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or a person or organization entrusted by either of the foregoing in executing affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the customer is likely to impede the execution of such affairs. 
d. When the following matters are notified or announced in advance and we have notified the Personal Information Protection Committee 
i. When the purpose of use includes provision to a third party 
ii. Items of data to be provided to a third party 
iii. The means or method of provision to a third party 
iv. Stopping the provision of personal information to a third party at the request of the customer 
v. The method for receiving requests from the customer 
2. Notwithstanding the provisions of this Article (1), the party to which the information is provided shall not fall under the category of a third party in the following cases.  
a. When there is consent from the customer (including cases where consent is obtained for the Terms of Service for the Services that stipulate provisions regarding the provision of personal information to third parties, and cases where consent is obtained for the Important Notice, etc. for the Services that we deliver to the customer). 
b. When we entrust all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use. 
c. When personal information is provided in connection with the succession of business due to a merger or other reasons. 
d. In the event that personal information is to be used jointly with a specific party or specific parties and in the event that we notify in advance the customer of that the fact that personal information is to be used jointly with a specific party or specific parties, the items of personal information to be used jointly, the name(s) of the party or parties to use personal information jointly, the purpose of use of personal information to be used jointly, and the name or title of the person responsible for the management of the personal information (hereinafter referred as to the “Fact and Items”) or make the Fact and Items easily accessible to the customer. 
 
Article 8 (Joint Use) 
1. In order to provide the Services to customers, we may share customers' personal information with our partners related to the Services to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use stipulated in Article 3. 
2. In the case of joint use of customers’ personal information between us and our partners pursuant to this Article (1), we will disclose in advance the name of the partner, the purpose of joint use, the items of information to be jointly used, and the person responsible for managing the information to be jointly used. 
 
Article 9 (Preparation and Use of Statistical Data) 
We may create statistical data on personal information based on personal information obtained from customers by taking measures to ensure that specific customers cannot be identified and that such personal information cannot be recovered. We may use such statistical data in an appropriate manner and provide it to third parties in accordance with Act on the Protection of Personal Information. 
 
Article 10 (Sensitive Information) 
We will not acquire, use, or provide to a third party any sensitive information (‘special care-required personal information’ defined in Act on the Protection of Personal Information, membership in labor unions, family origin, legal domicile, health and medical information, etc.) as defined in the Guidelines for the Protection of Personal Information in the Financial Sector unless permitted by law. 
 
Article 11 (Disclosure of Personal Information) 
1. When we are requested to disclose the customer’s personal information by the customer, we will disclose such information to the customer without delay; however, we may decide not to disclose all or part of the information if the disclosure would cause any of the following to occur, and when we decide not to disclose the information, we will notify the customer without delay. A fee of 1,000 yen (tax not included) will be charged for each disclosure of personal information. 
a. When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property or other rights and interests of the customer or a third party 
b. When there is a risk of significant hindrance to the proper implementation of our business 
c. When such disclosure violates laws and regulations 
2. Notwithstanding the provisions of this Article (1), we will not, in principle, disclose any information other than personal information, such as historical and characteristics information. 
 
Article 12 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information) 
1. When the personal information held by us is incorrect, the customer may request us to correct, add, or delete the personal information in accordance with the procedures specified by us. 
2. When we receive a request from the customer as described in this Article (1) and deem it necessary to respond to the request, we will make the correction of the relevant personal information without delay. 
3. In the event that we make a correction based on the provisions of this Article (2), or decide not to make a correction, we will notify the customer of such decision without delay. 
 
Article 13 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information) 
1. When we are requested by the customer to stop using or delete the customer’s personal information on the grounds that the information is being handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use or that the information was obtained by wrongful means, we will conduct the necessary investigation without delay. 
2. Based on the results of the investigation in this Article (1), when we determine to respond to the request, we will accordingly stop using or delete the personal information without delay. 
3. In the event that we suspend the use of personal information based on the provisions of this Article (2), or decide not to do so, we will notify the customer of such decision without delay. 
4. Notwithstanding this Article (2) and (3), in cases where it is difficult to suspend use of the information due to large costs or other reasons, and where alternative measures necessary to protect the rights and interests of the customer can be taken, such alternative measures will be taken. 
 
Article 14 (Changes to the Privacy Policy) 
1. The content of this policy is subject to change without notice to the customer, except as otherwise provided by law or in this policy. 
2. Unless otherwise specified by us, the revised Privacy Policy shall become effective when it is posted on our website. 
 
Article 15 (Use of Cookies and Other Technologies) 
Our services may use cookies and similar technologies. If the customer wishes to disable cookies, the customer may do so by changing the settings of the customer’s web browser; however, if the customer disables cookies, the customer may not be able to use some of the functions of our services. 
 
Article 16 (SSL (Secure Sockets Layers)/TLS (Transport Layer Security)) 
1. We may use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)/TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption or equivalent security technology to prevent eavesdropping by third parties during communications when customers provide personal information through our website. 
2. Depending on the customer’s computer environment, the customer may not be able to use these technologies. In such cases, we may indicate that it is unable to ensure the safety of the communication process. 
 
Article 17 (Use of Google Analytics) 
We may obtain the customer’s usage data with information we collect from Google Analytics. 
Google Analytics collects information regarding the use of other websites, apps, and online resources.

Article 18 (Providing Accurate Information) 
1. The customer shall notify us without delay of any change in the customer’s name, address, or other personal information. 
2. In the event of a change in the customer's personal information, the customer shall send a document to us with the original or a copy of the document confirming the change.
